Miss Pace to wed Lovett

Miss Angela Megan PaceMiss Angela Megan PaceMr. and Mrs. Lanny Ray Pace of Brandon announce the engagement of their daughter, Angela Megan Pace, to Alan Dale Lovett, son of Mr. Dale Alan Lovett of Olney, Texas and Ms. Charlotte Leigh Lovett of Brandon.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Thomas Campbell Guion of Yazoo City and the late Mr. Guion and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ray Pace of Kossuth.
The bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Lewis Henry White Jr. and the late Mr. White of Brandon and Mrs. Robert Earl Lovett and the late Dr. Lovett of Olney, Texas.
Miss Pace is a 2003 graduate of Northwest Rankin High School. She graduated with a bachelor degree in liberal arts from the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Miss Pace is a television reporter with the ABC affiliate 16 WAPT in Jackson.
Mr. Lovett is a 2003 graduate of Northwest Rankin High School. He graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 2007.
He received his master in environmental management and a juris doctor from Duke University in May, where he served as the managing editor of the Duke Environmental Law and Policy Forum. In August Mr. Lovett will begin a clerkship on the 11th Circuit of the U.S. Court of Appeals.
The couple will exchange vows on June 1 at Galloway United Methodist Church with a reception to follow at The South. They will make their home in Jacksonville, Fla.

 

Mood earns Gold Key Award

Marlee Mood of Benton received the Gold Key Award for Leadership Excellence as voted by the Jones County Junior College sophomore class. Mood, who was also voted Ms. Jones County Junior College,  recently received her Associates Degree from Jones County Junior College at the school’s May 10 commencement ceremony. She is the daughter of Tim and Lynn Mood of Benton. Xavier Lee and Teairra Robinson are proud to announce the birth of their son, Zay’Den Cortez Lee, on Apr. 22, 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Zay’Den weighed six pounds, and measured ten inches long.
Maternal grandparents are Taneka Robinson and Johnny Tate.
Paternal grandparent is Angel Cole.

Jenkins debuts
Timothy Wade and Elizabeth Ariel Jenkins are proud to announce the birth of their son, Landon Gage Jenkins, on April 27, 2013 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Landon Gage weighed seven pounds, one ounce and measured 20 inches long.
Maternal grandparent is Doug Chisolm.
Paternal grandparent is Claude Jenkins.
Also welcoming the new arrival is brother, Leland Griffin Jenkins.

 

Caples joins NHS

Tierra Michelle Caples, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Caples Sr., is a 2012 graduate of Yazoo City High School.
She currently attends the University of Southern Mississippi. She was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.
She is pursuing a career in Kinesitherapy.

 

Coker named Salutatorian

Mollie Coker, the daughter of Rob and Vicki Coker of Yazoo City, recently graduated from The Veritas School in Ridgeland. She was named Salutatorian of her class, and she will be attending the University of Mississippi in the fall.
