Benton Academy senior Nora Grace Davis has been racking up on post-season awards as of late.
An all-Star softball game, check.
A cheerleading/softball scholarship, check.
And an appearance in the MAIS Single A All-Star game: Well, you can check that off the list too.
Davis and the North All-Stars fell to the South All-Stars 67-54 Friday. Despite losing the game, Davis connected with a three pointer, and she was grateful for the experience.
"I was really excited. I got the chance to play in the softball all star game and now the basketball game," Davis said. "It was just a great experience."
Davis admits it was hard getting adjusted playing with some of your bitter rivals.

Crossbow bill headed to Bryant

By WILL EDGAR
Outdoors Writer

After years of being shot down by archers, the only thing standing between allowing crossbows during any deer season, including archery season, is Gov. Phil Bryant’s signature.
Senate Bill 2048 wound its way through the legislative process with little opposition compared to previous years and finally got the stamp of approval from the Senate with a unanimous vote on Thursday. An opinion was issued from Attorney General Jim Hood’s office in 2010 that stated bowhunters could not legally hunt during other deer seasons with their bows under the existing law.
In order to allow the use of bows during other seasons, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks developed special archery seasons that coincided with gun seasons.
Under SB 2048, the language clearly states that archery equipment can be used during any legal deer season.
