On a bright and beautiful afternoon for baseball, the Yazoo City Indians proved to the baseball world on Friday that Tuesday’s 8-3 victory over top ranked Neshoba Central wasn’t a fluke.
The Indians used seventh inning theatrics to come from behind to beat the Rockets 5-4 on a Sam Campbell walk-off double.
Campbell was excited about the big win after the contest. Campbell had a tremendous performance at the plate, going three for four hitting two doubles and a solo home run.
“First of all, I want to give all the glory to God,” Campbell said. “Second of all we wanted to prove that last Tuesday wasn’t a fluke. We just have a few more wins to go, and then we will become district champions.”
