On Saturday, Tri-County Academy captured MAIS Class A baseball state championship by defeating reigning champion Glenbrook School.
In the first game of the state championship series, Tri-County defeated Glenbrook 7-4, but the Apaches grinded out a 2-1 to even it up.
With the series tied at 1-1, Tri-County put up a 9-7 victory to clinch the series, as well as the state championship.
The Rebels finished their championship season with a record of 28-4.
Tri-County defeated Hebron Christian, Winona Christian, and Bayou Academy on their way to the state championship series.
Tri-County head baseball coach Ricky Owens couldn’t be reached by press time for comment.
