It was a bitter cold night for baseball at Panther Field Friday night.
However, it was the Yazoo City Indians who got hot at the plate to come away with a 12-4 victory.
Indians skipper Gerald Peyton said he was impressed with Yazoo County.
“The Panthers showed a lot of fight in this game. They battled back from a 5-0 deficit to make this game interesting,” Peyton said. “Despite the cold weather, both pitchers had their A game on today.  A few miscues on both sides allowed many of the runs.”

Yazoo City native and current Middle Tennessee State University senior Jontaveous “JT” Sulton became the 30th member of the MTSU 1,000 point club Saturday night after scoring 17 points to lead the Blue Raiders to a 70-62 victory over Western Kentucky.
The Blue Raiders, 27-4, are the No. 1 seed heading into Sun Belt Conference Tournament and will play Saturday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. in Hot Springs, Ark. against the winner of the North Texas-Louisiana game.
