Haywood’s second chance
Former Yazoo City defensive tackle Johnathan Haywood signs a national letter of intent to play football at Copiah-Lincoln Community College. Joining Haywood are is grandmother, Vercie Murphy, mother, Cynthia Young, aunt, Fredia Haywood and head football coach Tony Woolfolk.Jonathan Haywood hasn’t played football in over a year, but that didn’t stop college coaches from recruiting him.
Wednesday, the former Yazoo City lineman signed a national letter of intent to play football at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson. For Haywood, 19, it’s another crack at college football.
