The Yazoo City Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is announcing its first Sweetheart Pageant.
The pageant, whose emcee will be WLBT’s Maggie Wade, is open to girls between the ages of three and eleven. It is intended that this pageant will become an annual event.
The pageant will be held at McCoy Elementary School on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. This pageant will enrich character and build self esteem, which directly impacts our children’s educational performance.
The activities associated with the pageant will cultivate our children’s beauty talent and poise. It is the intent that young girls learn that volunteerism and service builds character and leadership. Participating in this pageant provides girls with the opportunity to learn that giving to others helps and gives back to the community.
To assist us in making our Sweetheart Pageant a success, support the contestant of your choice by an ad booklet sponsorship, monetary donations or purchase of tickets for $5 for adults and $3 for children.
