The clock has started ticking for two city schools to improve their status to avoid state intervention.
The first annual State of the District address was held Monday evening for the Yazoo City Municipal School District.
The atmosphere at the address was upbeat and optimistic as evaluators and representatives from the state department of education revealed their findings to the community.
McCoy Elementary School and Yazoo City High School are on the radar within the district. McCoy is listed as a failing school, while Yazoo City High is considered at risk of failing. -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
