IDELLE BRUMFIELD

Alice Idelle Brumfield, 98, died  Wednesday,  Jan. 19, 2011 at  St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson,                         following being a resident for several years at the Manhattan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jackson.
A short visitation will be held at Concord Baptist Church on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2 p.m. followed by the funeral service.  Burial will follow at the cemetery adjacent to the church.
Miss Brumfield was born at home in the Concord Church Community in Yazoo County on  Jan. 5, 1913, the second daughter of Tom Brumfield Jr. and Vera Woodson May.  
Following her graduation as salutatorian in the first graduating class at Anding High School in Bentonia, she attended a business course at the school. She later studied nursing for a time period in Vicksburg and then trained as a hair dresser in Memphis, Tenn. She worked as a hair dresser in Jackson for about six years before joining the US Army Corps of Engineers in Mountain Home, Ark. as an administrative support employee.  
In the mid-1940s, she served in Hawaii with the Corps.  Following the end of World War II, Miss Brumfield was selected as the administrative support person for Gen. Lucien Clay, the Allied Commander in Europe after the war.  She was stationed at that time in Frankfurt, Germany. She later joined the Central Intelligence Agency as a administrative staff member and retired from the Agency in 1969, after working in the area of finance and budgeting.  
During her service Miss Brumfield lived in Germany, Sweden, Australia, South America, Malaysia, and was at the Agency headquarters in Washington, D.C. for several tours of duty.  Following her retirement, Miss Brumfield made her home in Jackson.  Idelle had many friendships during her service and maintained contact with all of them, including visitations, as long as she could.  
One special friend, Cmdr. Arthur H. Graubart, USN-Retired, and his wife, Lucille, were friends from her time in Germany after World War II, until he died in 2004.  Cmdr. Graubart had the distinction of being the only naval officer that commanded a German battleship, the Prinz Origen.
Survivors include a brother, Elbert Lamar Brumfield (Francis Brent) of Baton Rouge, La., and numerous nieces and nephews, who live in various parts of the country.  She was preceded in death by her parents and by three brothers and two sisters.
The family wishes to thank Ann Washington, Miss Brumfield’s neighbor, friend, and later caregiver, for her devotion and support during her later years.

PAMELA McGHEE

Pamela McGhee, 47, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
Funeral services were Saturday at St. Matthew Church of God in Christ with Rev. Robert Burnside officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove M.B. Cemetery in Bentonia under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Miss McGhee was born Aug. 22, 1963 in Hollandale to the late Florence McQuarter and Woodrow McGhee. She was a member of 28th Street Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include her common law husband, Ray Charles Robinson; seven sons, Raymond, Keith, Terreance (Terri), Patrick, Robert, Eric and Darrious McGhee, all of Lexington, Ky.; 11 sisters, Cynthia Fulton of Canton, Jennifer Fuqua, Phyllis Warren, Sarah McGhee and Annie Marie Bracey of Lexington, Ky., Linda McGhee of Indianapolis, DeShannon McGhee, Gina McGhee, Lozonia Jackson, Edna Harvey and Lorrine Jackson, all of Swimsport, La.; 15 brothers, Lavel McGhee of Parchman, Samuel McGhee, Anthony Kimble and Royce Kimble of Lexington, Ky., Willie Jones Jr. of Yazoo City, Jonas Jackson and Bryan Jackson of Texas, James McGhee, Willie Ward, Kenneth Crystal and Jason McGhee of Linkwort, La., Timthony McGhee of Hinerville, Ga. Demond McGhee of Auroy, Colo., Edward Harper of Greenville and Withrow McGhee Jr. of Grofon, Ohio; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Ray Charles Robinson, Steve Robinson, Clifton Robinson, Herman Robinson, George Robinson and Fred Robinson.

BENSAHAW ROLAND

Bensahaw Roland, 3, died Jan. 3, 2011.
Funeral services were Jan. 14 at Bethel M.B. Church with Rev. M.C. Miller officiating. Burial followed at Bethel Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Ms. Roland was born April 2, 2007 at the University Medical Center in Jackson. She attended Pickens Head Start, which she greatly enjoyed and loved.
Survivors include her mother, Valerie Roland; father, John Peterson; brother, Sylvister Roland; grandmother, Doris Gordon; grandfather, Curtis Gordon; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Mack Bell, John Paterson, Edward Bell and Carlos Jones.

MILES STUTTS

Miles Maurice Stutts, 46, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at the Hinds County Nursing Home.
Funeral services were Jan. 7 at Glenwood Cemetery. Burial followed under the direction of Sebrell Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Arthur and Mae Clayburn of Yazoo City.
Survivors include his mother, Malinda O’Neil of Chicago; and a host of other relatives and friends.
