JOHNNY LUCKETT
Johnny Lee Luckett, 61, died on Jan. 11, 2011 in Chicago.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Peter Rock Church of God in Christ in Holly Bluff with Rev. Johnny Smith Sr. officiating.
Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Holly Bluff under the direction of Century Funeral Home.
Mr. Luckett was born on June 23, 1949 in Holly Bluff to James and Maude Luckett.
He lived in Holly Bluff during the early part of his childhood, where he joined Cambellsville M.B. Church. He joined the Armed Services where he was later honorably discharged.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two sisters, Jean and Diana; and two brothers, Robert Lee and James Luckett Jr.
Survivors include his partner, Dorothy Jackson of Aurora, Ill.; Addie Luckett of Jackson; children, Florence Denise (Michael) Alexander of Dallas and Margaret Luckett of Yazoo City; stepdaughter, Victoria (Okenzwa) Clark of Jackson; sister, Gloria (Sammy) Jones of Yazoo City; two brothers, Albert and Willie T. Luckett, both of Yazoo City; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers were Adonis Austin, Travis Richardson, Ananza Richardson, Sam Pleasant, Okenzwa Clark and Curtis Luckett.
Honorary pallbearers were Sammy Jones, Joe Luckett, Rio Pilgrim, William Pilgram, Carl Cowans and M.C. White.
