BASSMasters to meet this week

The Yazoo BASSMasters Fishing Club will hold the first meeting of 2011 on Thursday, January 20 at 7p.m. at Stub’s Restaurant.
Officers for the upcoming season will be elected at this meeting along with proposed rule changes.
The Yazoo BASSMasters is a local bass fishing club that is not affiliated with B.A.S.S, FLW, MediaBass, Team Trails, or any other bass fishing organization.
The club fishes 12 tournaments a year, with two months having double tournaments.
The two worst finishes for each angler are dropped at the end of the year.
Yearly membership is $10. Tournament entry fees are $5, with an optional $1 for each event of the year and tournament big bass pots.

Last season, Dewey Hood won first place, with 245 points. Matt Smith won second place, with a total of 218 points. Rick Morgan placed 3rd, with 217 points.
The Heaviest Stringer was awarded to Matt Smith, with an 18lb. 12oz. 5-bass limit at the April event.
The Lloyd Hancock Memorial Lunker of the Year plaque went to Bernie Massey, who weighed in a 7-pounder from the April event and Bert McDaniel, Sr. won the Sportsmanship Award.
The club weighed in a total of 724.41 lbs. of bass this year.
