Yazoo City Police Department employee Mary Whisenton and officer Arthur Thompson were recognized during the Mayor and Board of Aldermen meeting this week for saving the life of an inmate who attempted suicide at the Yazoo City jail.

Once again the Yazoo County Convention & Visitors Bureau has been recognized for excellence.

Leroy Girard

Leroy Girard, 98, of Jackson and formerly of Yazoo City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.

Susan Crowder Jordan

God our Father and His Lord Christ called Susan Crowder Jordan home to be with them on Sept. 5, 2017.
Until her unexpected passing, Mrs. Jordan lived with her husband in a home they’d built not far outside the city limits of Vernon, Alabama.
