RICHARD PIERCE

Richard C. Pierce, 56, of Benton died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2010 at Tulane Medical Center.
Funeral services were Monday at Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. David Bryant officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Pierce was born Sept. 14, 1954 in Yazoo County to Calvin and Lois Wilkinson Pierce. He was a truck driver.
He was preceded in death by his father, Calvin M. Pierce.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Pierce of Biloxi; daughter, Emily Winstead of Yazoo City; mother, Lois Pierce of Benton; sister, Glenda Fisher of Vaughan; two brothers, Chris Pierce and Eric Pierce, both of Vaughan; and four grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Rusty Nixon, Matthew Pierce, Ricky Evans, Griff Nesbit, William “Skipper” Pierce and Kenny Winstead.

SAMUEL SHARBOROUGH

Samuel Childress Sharborough, 55, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at Holly Bluff Methodist Church.
Mr. Sharborough was born June 5, 1955.
Survivors include his wife, Lynda Sharborough, and two sons of Jasper, Ark.; parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Sharborough of Holly Bluff and a brother, Will Sharborough III of Charleston, S.C.

HELEN SHURLEY

Helen H. Shurley, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bryant officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Shurley was born Aug. 13, 1927 in Yazoo County to James F. and Mary Sue Harthcock Hollowell. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Christine Woods and Kitty Justice.
Survivors include her husband, James K. Shurley of Yazoo City; son, Kenny Shurley of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Patty (John) Yates of Enterprise, Ala.; and a sister, Eleanor Murphree of Senatobia.
Serving as pallbearers were Marco Nicovich, Jim Files, Joe Stoner Jr., Larry Hall, Travis Murphree and Billy Wyatt.
Memorials may be made to Baptist Children’s Village.
