MONICA ALLEN

Mary Monica Allen, 33, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 in an auto accident.
Funeral services are today at 2 p.m. at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Lynch officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen was born Aug. 28, 1977 in Coahoma County to Harold and Margaret Roark Allen. She was a homemaker and a member of Parkview Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Gracie Rusche of Yazoo City; companion, Freddie Rusche Jr. of Yazoo City; parents, Harold and Margaret Allen of Yazoo City; and sisters, Debra Sterling and Angela Street.
Serving as pallbearers were Jason Powell, Jay Street, Jett Griffin, David Sterling, Chris Everett and Scooter Griffin.

CHRISTOPHER HARRIS

Christopher Demond “O.J.” Harris, 32, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital.
Funeral services were Saturday at St. Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Thaddeus Williams officiating. Burial followed at Jonestown Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Harris was born May 1, 1978 in Jackson to Rosie and the late W.L. Washington. He received his education in the Yazoo City public schools.
Survivors include three daughters, Kadigah Robinson, TilQuanda Johnson and Christine Harris; a son, Christopher Jr.; mother, Rosie Washington (C.W.); three sisters, Tasha Collins (Corey), Ugerika and Tyeshia, all of Yazoo City; a brother, Travis, of Yazoo City; great-grandmother, Bernice Brinston; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Michael Willis, John Carter, Curtis Davis, Melvin Johnson, Patrick Williams and Percy Green.

CLIFTON JENNINGS

Clifton “Pappy” Jennings, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010 at home.
Funeral services were Monday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Jennings and Rev. Luke Edwards officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Jennings was born Aug. 15, 1926 in Winston County to Darling H. and Mary Nance Jennings. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a self employed plumber. He was a member of Delta Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepmother, Josie Jennings White; and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Cleo Jennings of Yazoo City; four daughters, Mary Teresa Richardson, Linda Jennings Edwards, both of Yazoo City, Nancy Jennings Cockrell of Pearl, and Jan Jennings Powell of Flowood; a son, Richard Clifton Jennings of Yazoo City; four brothers; five sisters; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Larry Edwards, David Richardson, Curtis Ray, Trent Sligh, Lonnie Edwards, Jon Richardson, Josh Jennings and Corey Dear.

WILLIE OWENS

Willie Lee Owens, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010.
Funeral services were Sunday at the Shaffer & Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Anthony Brown officiating. Burial followed at Yazoo Memorial Park.
Mr. Owens was born July 19, 1926 to Fannie Miller and Roy Owens. He worked as a truck driver for Lewis Grocery for over 45 years before retiring. After his retirement, he began transporting children to and from school.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Henry; wife, Velma Becks Owens; step-daughter, Flora Becks Cox; and a grandson, Adrian Cox.
Survivors include five children, Willie Owens Jr. of Yazoo City, Robert Owens of Forrest City, Jim Owens of Jackson, Emily Owens of St. Louis, Mo. and Gracie Owens of Yazoo City; special daughter, Sharon McCallister of Yazoo City; and a host of grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Horace Becks, Eddie Berry, James Berry, Jonathan Cox, Arthur Harris, James Williams, Ollie Williams and Eddie Young.

WILLIAM ROBERTS

William Martin Roberts, 74, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services were Saturday at Benton United Methodist Church with Rev. Will Wilkerson officiating. Burial followed at Black Jack Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Roberts was born July 2, 1936 in Greenville, S.C. to Wiley James Roberts and Hattie Tilson Roberts. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retired marketing representative. He was a member of Benton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Roberts of Benton; two daughters, Sandra Roberts Horton of Spartanburg, S.C. and Sara Marie Roberts of Benton; a son, James Christopher Roberts of Canton; and two grandchildren, Carley Horton and Josh Horton.
Serving as pallbearers were David Pepper, Gary Golden, John Wells, Bruce Ruschewski, Cary Crain, Steve Carr and Brett Ruschewski.

MARY ANN ROGERS

Mary Ann Rogers, 42, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services will be Saturday at Pleasant Green M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Old Pleasant Green M.B. Church on Carter Road under the direction of Shaffer & Collins Funeral Home.
Ms. Rogers was born Sept. 27, 1968 in Yazoo County to the late Grady Jones and Fannie Mae Rogers Griffin.
She was preceded in death by brothers, W.C. Jones and Grady Jones; and sisters, Cathy Ann Rogers Turner and Lula Mae Rogers Bentley.
Survivors include her brothers, W.C. Rogers, Freddie Jones, Lemar Jones and Corey Jones; and her sisters, Linda Rogers, Gloria Rogers, Emma Rogers and Ollie Jean Jones.

CLIFFORD TRAMMELL Sr.

Clifford A. Trammell Sr., 89, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Parkview Church of God with Rev. James Williams officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Trammell was born Nov. 14, 1921 in Yazoo County to Walter Lee Trammell and Carrie Stovall Trammell. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served in World War II, a retired farmer and a member of First Independent Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Dixon Trammell; brothers, Floyd Goza Trammell, Walter Rex Trammell, Edward Lamar Trammell and Walter Lee Trammell Jr.; and sisters, Vera Trammell Coleman and Vivian “Pud” Langley.
Survivors include three sons, Clifford Trammell (Lynda) of Hollondale, Floyd Trammell (Kristee) of Greenville and Jay Trammell (Sharon) of Bentonia; three daughters, Nona Horne (Jimmy) of Sallis, Nancy Henderson (Gary) of Yazoo City and Cathy Douglas (James) of Yazoo City; grandchildren, Susan Patterson (Jared), Dixie Pogue (Lance), Celeste Woods (Leslie), Patrick Horne (Erica), Stephanie Arrington (Sam), Robin Cunningham (Eric), Jennifer Kraft (Josey), Floyd “Chip” Trammell Jr. (Lauren), Preslee Trammell, Kellie Evilsizor, Rachel Evilsizor, Rachel Henderson, Jade Blair Henderson, Jon Michael Morgan, Allyson Morgan, Kirk Douglas, Hunter Douglas and Cauley Chase Jr; and great-grandchildren, Tyler Pogue, Meleah Pogue, Hunter Woods, Will Patterson, Clay Patterson and Ethan Horne.
