Some may remember William Coleman as  a red-haired, freckle faced country boy who worked on his family’s plantation near Carter.
Coleman was an intelligent and cheerful boy who showed an abundance of kindness, laughter and pride.
He was also a hero.
While memories and old photographs are all family and friends have left to remember Coleman by in Carter, there is a memorial in his honor in a small town in France.
The story of William Coleman is a series of twists and turns. It is a story of courage, survival, fear, hope, and reconciliation with the past. -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
