In January we’ll start righting the ship

Walter PattersonWalter PattersonJames Carville, a far-left Democrat, wrote in 2009 after Mr. Obama was elected President that the Democrat Party would be “in power for forty years.”
Others in the elite intelligencia echoed his prediction, many writing that the chances of the Republicans winning the Senate or the House of Representatives in 2010 were “0”.
What a difference a year makes. The Republicans are now in control of the House of Representatives, they picked up seats in the Senate, and throughout the country, Republicans picked up state house after state house.
Yet, in listening to Mr. Obama’s press conference, one would believe that this has all been one big misunderstanding. The historic mid-term election loss of 2010 occurred because he did not communicate at a level that the “unwashed” among us could understand. Everything that the Obama Administration proposed was wonderful and good but, unfortunately, Americans were just not astute enough to understand the greatness of his policies.
Immediately, however, Mr. Obama, along with Harry Reid, the most corrupt man in American politics, called for “compromise.” “The American people want us to work together,” they repeated over and over. “Compromise! Work together!” These are now the words of the losing party.
How do you compromise with people who are intent on destroying America as we know it?
How much of your individual liberty are you willing to give up?
How much of your hard earned money do you want to give up to a government that has lost control of spending. Is American exceptionalism to be sacrificed on the altar of compromise?
The House of Representatives is important because all bills having to do with the expenditure of funds must originate in this chamber. All appropriation bills must originate in the House. Consequently, if the House does not approve it, there will be no funds available to expend on Obamacare, Cap and Trade, and a Value Added Tax (VAT) so popular with Democrats.
My advice to the newly elected Republicans is do not compromise on anything. “Gridlock” is a wonderful thing. It keeps bad laws from being forced on the American people.
Extend the Bush Tax cuts indefinitely to all Americans. De-fund all stimulus spending. Reduce funds to all departments to at least the 2008 levels. Reduce regulations on small businesses.
Vote immediately to resend Obamacare. Make the Democrats defend this monster. Let’s keep this dog on the table for as long as we can. The American people hate it, they don’t want it, and the election was their emphatic statement against it.
If Obamacare is still around in 2012, the Republicans and the Tea Party will pick up another 30 seats in the House and 14 or more seats in the Senate. We’ll also have a new president.
Mr. Obama and his Democrat cohorts need to call time out and reflect on this historic election. After a while, reality will sink in. They lost, and lost big.
In January, this out- of- control ship-of-state will begin making a course change, and the American people and future generations will be the winners.
