City continues pit bull debate

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Herald Reporter

Ward 4 Alderman Aubry Brent Jr. said he was going to continue to address the issue of pit bulls in Yazoo City, and the Monday’s board meeting was no exception.
For the third Board of Mayor and Aldermen open meeting, Brent sparked discussion of a breed specific ban on pit bulls within the city.
The topic was debated among Brent and Ward 2 Alderman Dr. Jack Varner during the last board meeting. Varner stressed a breed specific ban shouldn’t be implemented because there are several other breeds of dogs just as dangerous as pit bulls. -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
