Watson/ Madison County JournalRIDGELAND – A pair of touchdowns in the first half by Yazoo City quarterback Dazmon Wright wasn’t enough to upset Ridgeland Friday night in district action as the Indians dropped their sixth consecutive contest 45-14.

Yazoo City (2-8, 0-6) will have one more chance to earn a win in 5A region 2 if they can defeat Callaway this Friday in their season finale at home. For the Titans, it was their biggest offensive output of the season.

“We hung in there with them for a little while, but they were bigger and faster than us,” head coach Tony Woolfolk said.

Yazoo City came out hot to start the ball game, eventually scoring the game’s first touchdown when Wright stretched across the goal line from a yard out.

The lead quickly evaporated when Quardarius Armour returned the ensuing kickoff 75 yards downfield to tie the game at 7-7.
