Panthers fall to Mustangs in season finale

LEXINGTON- Yazoo County racked up over 180 yards rushing Thursday night, and although the defense shutdown J.J. McClain in the second half, the Panthers closed out the 2010 season with a 30-8 loss.

Yazoo County (1-10) finished winless (0-6) in their district for the first time since 2004 as their losing streak extended to five games.

The Mustangs, who hadn’t won games in a row since September 3, jumped out to an early 16-0 lead in the first quarter by Devonte Anderson and Anthony Smith.

Smith added two more touchdowns in the second quarter including a 59 yard run that gave McClain a huge 30-0 advantage with a little time left to play in the first half.
