CLEVELAND - Former MAIS championship runner Annalee Pierce was named GoStatesmen.com Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 17.
It's the first career honor for Pierce and the third this season for DSU Cross Country.
Pierce, a 5-foot-4 freshman for the Lady Statesmen Cross Country team, finished second for the green-and-white with a 19:44.62 to place 286th overall and 246th in team action at the 22nd annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival.
