Despite three turnovers in the first half, the Mavericks 32-20 victory over Oak Hill Friday night shed new light on a season that has been filled with inconsistencies.
A trip to the post season was on the line, the magic number being two. A pair of victories would guarantee more football in November.
Oak Hill seemed to be holding all the cards but it was Manchester who tallied the first blow an 85 yard pass and catch between Matt
Peaster and John Bryant with less than five minutes left to play in the first quarter.
The Raiders quickly responded with a two minute drill on their next possession to knot the score up at 7-7 with minutes to spare in the quarter.
Manchester’s fortunes would take a turn for the worst on the next two drives; a pair of fumbles inside the 10 yard line. The latter would set up a safety for the Mavericks defense and give them a slim 9-7 lead after a bad snap fell into the end zone.
