Tre Richardson looks to break a tackle in Friday night’s division contest with Provine. Kiese Kirkland’s 12 yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter was not enough to stop the losing streak, which now stands at three games for Yazoo City following Friday nights 28-6 district loss to Provine.

The Indians (2-5) join this week’s opponent Lanier as the only 5A Region 2 school without a conference win.

The Rams needed four touchdowns, one in each quarter to earn the win and stop a four game losing streak in the process.

“We’re in 5A football now,” Yazoo City head coach Tony Woolfolk said. “Everybody we play is bigger than us, we’re small this year. We just couldn’t hang with their lineman, but our skill guys are just as good and even better in most games.”

Jadarius Hicks was a one-man show for the 2-5 Rams, scoring all four touchdowns; a pair of three yard runs in the first and second quarter followed by a five yard dash in the third. Provine ate nearly 14 minutes off the clock to take a commanding 21-0 lead.

Hicks closed out the scoring in the fourth with his longest of the night, a 77 yard sprint with 2:40 left to play.
