BO EDMONDS

James L. “Bo” Edmonds, 67, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at home.
Funeral services were Sunday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Ingram officiating. Burial followed at Cypress Garden Cemetery.
Mr. Edmonds was born March 28, 1943 in Yazoo County to Griffin and Edna Edmonds. He was a retired welder and a member of Tinsley Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Edwards of Yazoo City; three sons, Bobby Whisenant of Yazoo City, John Pinkney Logan of Yazoo City and Jody W. Logan of Pearl; two sisters, Beverly Gail Landrum of Morton and Beverly Ann Hammond of Stuttgart, Ark.; four brothers, Elmer Eugene Denton of Hampton, Ark., Odie Denton of Pelahatchie, Robert Denton of Morton and Roger Denton of Sebastapol; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Jackie Edmonds, Tommy Logan, James Bryant, Wayne Franklin, Gary Logan, Lister Edmonds, David Bryant and Bubba Ward.

LYLES FREEZE

Lyles Freeze, 32, of Oak Grove died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010 at Forrest General Hospital.
Funeral services were Monday at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Burial followed at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Freeze was a real estate agent with Realty Executives and a member of Temple Baptist Church, West Campus. He was a former resident of Yazoo City.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sidney and Ellen Freeze and Thomas and Laura Jo Pierce.
Survivors include his wife, Brooke Freeze of Oak Grove; a son, Gavin Sidney Freeze of Oak Grove; father, Terry Freeze Sr. of Columbus; mother, Dianne Freeze of Starkville; brothers, Terry Freeze Jr. of Brandon and Jeremy Freeze of Columbia, Mo.; and two sisters, Laura Freeze of Memphis, Tenn, and Faithe Ham of Starkville.

Y.T. IRVING

Y.T. Irving Jr., 45, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2010.
Funeral services were Saturday at St. Emanuel M.B. Church with Rev. Albert Williams officiating. Burial followed at Cypress Gardens under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Irving of Giardeau, Mo.; eight daughters, Colissa Brogden (Steve) of Cincinnati, Yolanda Irving of Hattiesburg, Lasondra Irving (Percy) of Yazoo City, Shamika Irving (Rashad) Sabrina Irving, Sirena Irving (Gabriel), Danielle Craving, all of Giradeau, Mo.; five sons, Charles Burley (Shemeka) of Columbus, Ohio, Christopher Irving (LaQuanda) of Yazoo City, Y.T. Irving III of Omaha, Neb., T’Raye Irving of Yazoo City, and Daniel Craving of Cape Giradeau, Mo.; five brothers, Jimmy Irvine of Yazoo City, Leroy Irvine of Baton Rouge, La., Tommy Irvine (Nekather) of Yazoo City, Randy Irving (Melissa) of Jonesboro, Ark. and Ricky Irvine of Jackson, Mo.; two sisters, Mae Bell Washington Gower (Michael) of Yazoo City and Mary Ann Irving of Kenneth, Mo.; 29 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

JOHNNY MOORE

Johnny Melvin Moore, 72, died Friday, Oct. 8, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services were Monday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daryl Oster officiating.
Mr. Moore was born June 5, 1938 in Atalla County to Johnny Jackson Moore and Carrie Kyle Moore. He was a retired employee of Anderson Minnow Farm and a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Ann Moore of Yazoo City; three daughters, Jacki Moore, Carrie Moore and Mary Fuller, all of Yazoo City; a brother, Bill Moore of Chicago; and two grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Johnny Fuller, Wayne Cantrell, Pat Peeples, Jimmy Cantrell, Joel Dobbins and Marshall Duell.

JOHN OSBORNE

John Allen Osborne, 73, of Bentonia died Monday, October 11, 2010 at his home.
Visitation is today at 10 a.m. at Bentonia Baptist Church.
Funeral services are today at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Osborne was born on June 25, 1937 to Lecester and Bessie Massey Osborne. He was a veteran of the Air Force and served in Korea.  He was a truck driver for 29 years with Miller Transporters.  He especially loved being involved with his grandchildren.  In his spare time he enjoyed wood working, and his specialty was clocks and boxes. He also enjoyed motorcycle riding, antique cars, and he was an avid bluegrass fan. Allen was a “people person,” and spent a lot of his time helping those in need. He was an active member of Bentonia Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harold “Sammy”Osborne.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years and 10 months, Elaine Osborne; son Anthony “Tony” (LaWanna) Osborne; daughter Renee’ (Griff) Irwin;  four grandchildren, Joshua Osborne, Delaine Irwin, Kayla Osborne and Kyle Irwin; sister, Janie (Billy) Ferriss; brothers, Marcus (Lavonia) Osborne and his twin Joe (Joyce) Osborne;  and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Joshua Osborne, Kyle Irwin, David Osborne, Richard Ferriss, Steve Green, Larry Osborne, Tommy Green, Cliff Hampton, Wesley Parker, Lanny Sims, and Mike Sims.
Honorary pallbearers are Joe Osborne, Freddie Crotwell, Billy Johnson, Jerry Creech, Richard Moore, Wayne Hall, Billy Ross Thomas, Richard Creel, Jonathan Parr, Jackie Niven, Kelly Speicht, Paul Ferriss and J. D. Smith.

JENNIFER SAXTON

Jennifer Michelle Saxton, 37, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010.
Funeral services were Monday at Wesley Chapel with Rev. Ray Woods officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Scott Funeral Home.
Ms. Saxton was born Dec. 13, 1972 to Rebekah Lawrence and Harry Saxton.  She was a store manager at Movie Gallery and a member of Short Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her brother, A. Wayne Saxton.
Survivors include two sons, Damian Saxton and Noah Cagle; mother, Rebekah Lawrence; father, Harry Saxton; and a host of relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Boyd, Chas Bradshaw, Tommie John Cagle, Blue Cantrell, Matthew Jones and Billy Joe Walton.
Honorary pallbearers were Robbie Gale Bond and Bill Prestage.

GREGORY SPIRES

Gregory Edward Spires, 34, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010.
Funeral services were Saturday at St. Matthew Church of God in Christ with Rev. Greg Robertson and Emanuel Thompson officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Scott Funeral Home.
Mr. Spires was born Dec. 21, 1975 in Vicksburg to Deloris Kyles and George Spires. He was a 1994 graduate of Yazoo City High School, where he played football. He was a member of Now Faith Worship Center in Lexington, Kent., where he worked as the sound man until his health failed.
Survivors include his wife, Angele R. McGhee-Spires; stepchildren, Quincy Simmons and Emerald McGhee; father, George (Patricia) Spires of Bentonia; brothers, Calvin (Niki) Smith of Jackson, Jordan Kyles of Yazoo City and Jody B. Sheppard of Bentonia; sister, Tyann Well-Sinclair of Jackson; grandmother, Magnolia Smith of Yazoo City; and a host of other relatives and friends.

MARY WATSON

Mary Ann Watson, 52, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2010 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were Saturday at the N.D. Taylor Gym with Rev. Larry Thomas officiating. Burial followed at Christian Grove Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Watson was born Feb. 15, 1958 in Yazoo City to the late Laura Bell Bullock and Charles Henderson.
Survivors include her husband, Lendell Watson Jr. of Yazoo City; three sons, Eric Watson, Daniel De’Wayne (Ginger) Watson and Lendell Watson III, all of Yazoo City; two sisters, Barbara Jean Bell and Gloria Jean Watson of Thornton; two brothers, Charles Henderson Jr. and Big Mane of Chicago; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Edward Henderson, Mario Sims, Lewis Bonds, Troy McCallister and Terrence Trotter.
