Proposed adult district scrapped after citizens protest

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Herald Reporter

A packed room broke into applause after board members decided an adult entertainment district would not be included in the city’s new zoning map.
There wasn’t an empty seat as citizens lined the walls at the Board of Mayor and Aldermen public hearing Tuesday afternoon.
The hearing was held for the public to comment on the city’s proposed zoning map and ordinance proposal. Citizens, including the Yazoo Ministerial Association, were present to oppose a proposed adult entertainment district along Highway 3.
