Miss Somerville to wed Martin on Oct. 30
Dr. and Mrs. Scott Martin of Laurel announce the engagement of their son, Nathan, to Shona Somerville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alistair of Edinburgh, Scotland.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Alexander Somerville of Edinburgh, Scotland and Dr. and Mrs. Jack Clark of Paisley, Scotland.
Shona attended high school at George Watson’s College in Edinburgh and then attended the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. After receiving a BA Honors degree in Politics. she received her Masters in Broadcast Journalism at City University in London. She presently freelances as the Assistant Foreign News Editor for ITV’s National network news show in the United Kingdom and as a producer at their Washington, D.C. Bureau.
Nathan is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Jimmy Walker of Yazoo City, Dr. and Mrs. Bill Martin of Hattiesburg and Mrs. Wanda Jones of Sandersville.
Nathan is a homeschooled graduate of Lauren Christian Home Educators. He received a BA degree in Journalism from Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Va. He was deputy Arts Editor for the Washington Post Express. He is currently an associate producer for Bill Bennett’s “Morning in America” radio show.
Wedding vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. at Alvie Church in Kincraig Scotland on Oct. 30.
A stateside reception will be held in Laurel on Nov. 27.
