Raiders shutout Hebron 46-0
Pheba - Benton Academy scored 34 first half points Friday night on their way to a 46-0 win over Hebron Christian. It was the Raiders first win on the 2010 season and snapped a five game losing streak dating back to last season.
The Raiders, who scored just 13 points in the first three games, let their offensive production do the talking.
“This was the kind of a game we needed,” said Benton head coach Wayman Grantham after the game. “We were 0-3 the first three games, and those were three games I thought we should have won.”
The game’s first touchdown came via special teams as senior Joe White returned a punt for an 82 yard score with 6:57 left to play in the first quarter.
“That kind of got the momentum rolling,” Grantham said. “From there it just kept going. It was a good win for us. We were hungry for a win and we needed that. Hopefully it will jumpstart us to get on the right track.”
