40 years and counting
Benton Academy will celebrate 40 years of history this Friday with a day full of celebrations and festivities for the 2010 homecoming.
The day kicks off bright and early with the annual homecoming pep rally followed by maid presentations, costume awards and pep talk starting at 10 a.m.
Following lunch, class and team floats will line up and down Old Hwy 16 for the annual homecoming parade.
The Benton Academy Booster Club will sponsor BBQ plates of pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, bread, and dessert for $6 each inside the school cafeteria hours before kickoff.
Starting at 6:30, the formal presentation of maids will began before a new queen is crowned.
Every maid from 1970 until now will also be honored, a tradition that was started for the school’s 30 year anniversary in 2000.
By night’s end, the Raiders, fresh off of their 46-0 win over Hebron, will look to make it two in a row when they take on Central Holmes starting at 7:30.
