Sheriff turns son’s case over to MBN
By JASON PATTERSON
After discovering the suspect in a drug investigation was his own son, Sheriff Thomas Vaughan has turned the case over to the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
Thomas E. Vaughan Jr., 26, was arrested Friday on charges of sale of marijuana.
“This is very tough for me personally, but the message should be very clear,” said Sheriff Vaughan. “No one is above the law.”
Sheriff Vaughan said that he ordered the case turned over to the MBN to avoid any appearance of impropriety. An agent for the MBN made the arrest and will be handling the case through the legal system.
