JIMMY ANDREWS
James E. “Jimmy” Andrews Sr., 59, of Lexington, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010.
Funeral services were Friday at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ladell Blanton officiating.
Mr. Andrews was born Feb. 4. 1951 in Harrison County to James W. and Iris Dye Sellers Andrews. He was a self employed contractor and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie T. Andrews of Lexington; son, Jim Andrews (Merri) of Abita Springs, La.; daughters, Becky Buxton (Paul) of Yazoo City and Joni Gallman (Sam) of Raymond; brothers, Mike Andrews of Gulfport and Harry Andrews of Greenwood; sister, Kay Conn of Gulfport; and grandchildren, Rebecca Buxton, Hailee Frost, Emma Frost, Mitchell McCool and Andrew McCool.
Serving as pallbearers were Ricky Pullen, Richard Spencer, Walter Jennings, Larry Williams and Jack Ford.

ROBERT BASSETT
Robert Henry Bassett, 91, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010.
Funeral services were Saturday at St. Paul M.B. Church with Rev. Nathaniel Booker officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Century Funeral Home.
Mr. Bassett was born April 4, 1919 to James and Ethel Smith Bassett. He was employed at Memphis Hardwood for several years before accepting employment at the McGraw Sawmill in Yazoo City, where he worked until he retired. He was a member of St. Paul M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ora Mae Griffing; four sisters, Carrie, Bettie, Annie and Lovie; and a brother, William.
Survivors include a brother, Bishop Hurley Bassett of Iowa; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Prentiss Vaughan, Johnnie Earl Vaughan, James Green, Douglas Green, Isaiah Cox and Prentiss Davis.
Honorary pallbearers were Minus Vaughan Sr., William Vaughan, Charlie Collins, Herbert Vaughan, Minus Vaughan Jr. and Joseph Vaughan.
