Benton Academy third basemen Kim Ables has been hot at the plate and hot corner. Following one of their best starts in school history, the Benton Academy Lady Raiders softball team struggled this pastweek  with a 1-4 record, including a winless weekend at a tournament in Starkville.

The first game was a 2-1 loss to AAA Pillow Academy, a game where they had left 12 runners on base but  the first time this season, did not commit a single error.

“We just couldn’t get those timely hits to bring the girls around,” head coach Vince Davis said.
