Photo by Gary Andrews. For one quarter of football, Yazoo County had kept Madison Ridgeland Academy off the scoreboard in the 2010 season opening rematch. By night’s end it was 2009 all over again as the Patriots shutdown the Panthers 47-6 at the swamp.

“I thought we played a heck of a first quarter, considering for a lot of our kids, it was their first time playing a varsity football game,” head coach Matt Williams said by phone. “Kids were playing hard and executing well.”
