STEPHANIE GILMORE

Stephanie Nicole Gilmore, 18, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010 in an auto accident.
Visitation is tonight from 5-8 p.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home and from 9-11 a.m. Thursday.
Funeral services are Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church in Lexington.
Ms. Gilmore was born April 10, 1992 in Vicksburg to William Gilmore and Cecilia Sanderford. She was a student and a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Lexington.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Cecil Sanderford and her paternal grandfather, Billie Joe Gilmore.
Survivors include her mother, Cecilia Seay (Allen) of Holly Bluff; father, William Gilmore (Shelly) of Satartia; sister, Angela Gilmore Floyd of Greenwood; two brothers, Shawn Gilmore of Holly Bluff and Terry Seay of Holly Bluff; step-sisters, Tara Merritt of Houston, Texas and Sherie Lanier of Satartia; step-brothers, Brandon Merritt of Houston, Texas and Chad Merritt of Houston, Texas; maternal grandparents, Susie Sanderford of Holly Bluff and Barbara Seay of Holly Bluff; paternal grandparents, Leebeth Gilmore of Lexington, Dave and Jan Keefer of Yazoo City and Jesse Pittman of Waco, Texas; two nieces; and three nephews.

EVIE POTTER

Evie N. Potter, 80, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Funeral services were Monday at Center Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Abel officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Potter was born Oct. 7, 1929 in Sweetwater, Ala. to James Wesley Newton and Edna Etheridge Newton. She was a homemaker and a member of Center Ridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Raiford Potter of Yazoo City; daughters, Rebecca Petermann (Bubba) of Yazoo City; Ann. N Ketchum of Oxford and Deborah Buckley (Joe)  of Yazoo City; two sons, William F. Neal (Patty)  of Vicksburg and James E.  Neal (Marilyn) of Vaughan; three sisters, Evelyn Sheffield of Alabama, Nell Wright of Alabama and Margaret Griffin of Utica; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Jason P. Buckley, Chance Neal, Byron Buckley, Richard Cox, Kendall Ketchum, Brad Petermann, Clint Petermann, Wesley Neal, Neal Buckley and Susan N. Turner.

LOUVENIA WOODS

Louvenia Beatrice Woods, 100, died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010 at Oasis Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral services were Sunday at St. Stephen United Methodist Church with Rev. Rachael Pitts officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Knight & Lindsey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Woods was born April 12, 1910 in Yazoo City to Mack and Clementine Williams.
Survivors include a son, Dr. Clarence Woods Jr. (Pamela); granddaughter, Vanessa Woods of Los Angeles, Calif; nephew, Walter G. Clark (Emma) of Yazoo City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were the men of St. Stephen United Methodist Church.
Honorary pallbearers were Herman Leach, Wardell Leach, Melvin Reynolds and Billy Turner.
