Benton Academy pitcher Jenny Reynolds has been one of the reasons for the Lady Raiders success on the diamond this season.
In Benton’s last five games, the freshman is 3-1 and averaging five strikeouts per contest.
Head coach Vince Davis says this is only the beginning.
“She’s been more consistent the last two weeks,” he said. “There was a few things we needed to work on, like her nervousness, but once the season got rolling, she’s been really effective. She’s not at her peak right now.”
Reynolds was the winning pitcher in Benton’s 5-3 win over Veritas Saturday morning at a tournament hosted by Manchester Academy.
The Lady Raiders (8-4) scattered five hits on the day while Reynolds took care of business in the circle with six strikeouts while giving up three runs on five hits.
