Manchester Academy needed extra innings to decide to a champion for the weekend tournament, when the final run crossed the plate, it was the host school that were victorious.
“It was wonderful win in the championship game,” head coach Russell Cruise said. “We started out a little disappointing in the first and getting beat, and to fight our way back through showed a lot of heart.”
The Lady Mavericks improved to 5-3 on the season after getting three straight victories Saturday.
Manchester gave up five runs in third inning on route to a 10-5 loss to Tri-County in the opening matchup that set up a rematch with Indianola.
