HATTIE HOWELL
Hattie Irene Howell, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. A.L. Kelly and Rev. Jon Vanlandingham officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Mrs. Howell was born Sept. 24, 1924 in Holly Bluff to Samuel Leroy House and Ethel Rodgers House. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.L. Howell; a son, James Ross Howell; a grandson, John E. McGinty Jr. and two sons-in-law, John E. McGinty Sr. and Joe Kelley Sr.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Howell of Bentonia; four daughters, Joyce Kelly of Mandeville, La. and Janie Howell, Bernie McGinty and Linda Dozier, all of Bentonia; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Ryan Howell, Chuck McGinty, Keith Dozier, Scott Howell, Chad McGinty and Lee Dozier.
ERNEST ROBERTSON
Ernest Edward Robertson, 82, died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Saturday at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Jennings officiating. Burial followed at Center Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Robertson was born Jan. 27, 1928 in Bentonia to E. Franklin Robertson and Anna May Vandevender Robertson. He was a clerk and a butcher and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Martha J. Robertson of Yazoo City; daughter, Fay Burns of Madison; son, Ed Robertson of Yazoo City; two grandchildren, Dennis (Shyla) Perry of Junction City, Ark. and Trey (Casse) Burns of Brandon; and two great-grandchildren, Lexi Perry and Jordan Ladner.
Serving as pallbearers were Dennis Perry II, David Chisolm, Larry Caudel, Trey Burns, Aubrey Johnson and Dr. William Burnett.
