For the Herald
Meet Yazoo educator Charles Thomas who, after more than 40 years, is now enjoying the fruits of a long ago inspiration.
It was back in 1967 during a train trip to Chicago that a train ride marked the beginning of his dream: a card game designed to acquaint folks with little-know Mississippi locales.
By Christmas, the products of his Unique Smalltown Mississippi enterprise hopefully will make it to stores’ shelves throughout the state.
“The first place the train stopped was in Durant, Mississippi,” Thomas, who was then 17 years old, recounted of that train trip 43 years ago.
