Yazoo City native and current Middle Tennessee State University senior Jontaveous “JT” Sulton became the 30th member of the MTSU 1,000 point club Saturday night after scoring 17 points to lead the Blue Raiders to a 70-62 victory over Western Kentucky.
The Blue Raiders, 27-4, are the No. 1 seed heading into Sun Belt Conference Tournament and will play Saturday, March 9 at 6:30 p.m. in Hot Springs, Ark. against the winner of the North Texas-Louisiana game.
The former Yazoo City Indian has been an integral part of the Blue Raiders success this season.
“This is a big accomplishment. When I think about all the other achievements I have made at MTSU it was only right that I went out the right way,” said Sulton. “It’s something I wanted to do for myself because it shows that hard work pays off. I just took advantage of the opportunity God has presented me.”
