A young mother died Saturday from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident along the interstate in Pearl.
Nikki Hood, 30, of Yazoo City was pronounced dead Saturday at the University Medical Center in Jackson.
“She died from massive internal injuries due to blunt force trauma from the wreck,” said Hinds County Coroner Sharon Stewart.
The accident occurred  during the early morning hours on March 1 in Pearl.
Hunter Street, the driver of the vehicle, remains in critical condition in the hospital. Street is also a Yazoo City native.
