After months of complaints, a row of abandoned houses on Sixth Street will be targeted for possible demolition.
Alderman Aubry Brent Jr. told the city board he was under the impression that the three houses along the street, located off of Calhoun Avenue, were placed upon the demolition list.
“I now understand that there is some litigation going on to keep them from being demolished,” Brent said, during the board meeting this week. “This is hazardous to people’s health. Nothing seems to be done about it. We have an obligation to go in there and take care of it.”
