Cross will soon shine once more above Bentonia

By JASON PATTERSON
Editor & Publisher

Many Bentonia residents were thrilled to see the new cross light up Wednesday evening, but that was just a test.
After an unsuccessful test on Tuesday, the cross facing north worked the next time. There were still problems with the side facing south, however.
“Only part of the south cross was shining, but we’re going to send our tower climber back up as soon as possible to fix the problem,” said Greg Horne, who helped start the effort to erect the crosses. “When we get all of the bugs worked out we will have a dedication ceremony, and the crossess will be visible every night.”
