Varner says mobile home exceptions must be stopped

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

Granting exceptions for mobile homes in certain residential zones was yet again a hot topic among city leaders last week.
After one request to allow a mobile home in a residential zone was tabled, Alderman Dr. Jack Varner said this issue was starting to get out of control.
“You are going to end up putting trailers on every vacant lot in the city,” Varner said, during the Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting. “I have voted against it every time. There is no reason to put trailers all over town.”
