Derrick Little scored eighteen points to help lead the Yazoo City Indians past Starkville 36-34.
However, Indian Head Coach Archie Carlyle believes there needs to be some improvement in order for the Indians to succeed in the district tournament. “
We have to come to play defense,” Carlyle said. “We have to get better on the defensive end, and we have to cut down on the turnovers.”  
Clarence Johnson and Kiese Kirkland chipped in six points in the team’s win.
The Lady Indians fell in a heartbreaker to the Lady Jackets 60-55.
three Lady Indians scored in double figures in the hard fought loss.
Alicia Hudson led all scorers with 20 points, Kortnee Hill added 1, while Angela Hudson chipped in 10.
