CORINTHIANS DIXON
Corinthians Damascus Dixon, 23, died Jan. 21, 2013 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were Jan. 25 at the St. Paul Church of  God in Christ in Lexington with Supt. William Dean Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Greenlawn Cemetery in Lexington under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Dixon was born June 24, 1989 in Holmes County to Curtis and Debra Harris Dixon. He was employed with Radio Shack in Jackson and a member of St. Paul Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his parents, Curtis and Debra Harris Dixon of Lexington; brothers, Curtis Dixon Jr. and Ernest Wade of Lexington; three sisters, Curtissa Dixon of Lewisville, Texas and DeShenia Coleman (Jeffery) and DeJohnessa Dixon of Lexington; grandparents, John and Deloris Harris of Lexington and Sylena Calhoun Dixon of Detroit; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Cleveland Dixon, Maurice Dixon, LaRon Jackson, Clyde Jerrod Dixon, DeAndre West and Reggie Dixon.
Honorary pallbearers were John Harris III, Charles Jones, Chris Dixon Jr., William T. Harris, Eugene Dixon and Clyde Dixon Sr.

GERALD GLASCOE
Gerald Lee Glascoe, 75, died  Monday, January 28, 2013 at home under the loving care of his family and Continue Care Hospice.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Funeral services are Friday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Lewis Kalil officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Lesta Porter Glascoe and Albert Frank (Tuck) Glascoe, a twin brother Joe and his first wife Jean Greenwell Glascoe
Survivors include his wife, Rosalyn Brandt Glascoe, sons Gerald Lee Glascoe, Jr. (Sue) and Joe Lynn Glascoe (Kelly),  two special “daughters”, Andra L. Owens (Kendall) and Tami K. Cox (Joel), and six grandchildren.
Gerald, a graduate of Arkansas State University, served his country in the United States Air Force during the time of the Cuban crisis.  After retiring from the farm equipment business, he worked as County Administrator of Yazoo County.  Following his career as administrator, he spent almost two years rebuilding houses on the Mississippi Gulf Coast after Hurricane Katrina, under the auspices of the MS Baptist Disaster Relief.  Gerald also coordinated the rebuilding effort in Yazoo County following the 2010 tornado.
He was a member of First Baptist Church for 40 years, serving in various capacities.
Gerald’s passion in life was simply to serve his Lord.

ROOSEVELT JOHNSON
Roosevelt Johnson, 71, died Jan. 15, 2013.
Funeral services were Jan. 26 at the Scott Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Cypress Garden Cemetery.
Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 9, 1941 to Sam and Virginia Newton Johnson. He was educated at Shipp School in Benton and worked for Yazoo Valley Electric Power Association for 32 years.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Deloris Johnson; sons, Timothy Patterson, Roosevelt Johnson Jr. (Cynthia) and Paul Johnson of Yazoo City; daughters, Cheryl, Allisa (Carl) and Neco (Tony) of Yazoo City; brothers, Freddie Johnson of Yazoo City and T.S. Johnson (Versie Mae) of Benton; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Timothy Patterson, Roosevelt Johnson, Paul Johnson, Carl Little, Tony Hodges, DeAndre Bass and Terrence Bass.
Honorary pallbearers were Timothy Adams, Maurice Adams, Chris Clay, George Alexander, Willie Benford and Frederick Johnson.

BUDDY THRASHER
A.W. “Buddy” Thrasher, died Dec. 19, 2012 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Mr. Thrasher was born April 26, 1944 to John Clemon and Nellie Mae Evers Thrasher. He was a lifelong Baptist and enjoyed a long career in the logging business. He worked for Cathy Williford Jones and Memphis Hardwood and was a member of the Miss. Loggers Association. He retired in 2009.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leola K. Ables Thrasher; two sons, Michael B. Thrasher and Marcus B. Thrasher; and a brother, John C. Thrasher Jr.
Survivors include his daughters, Renee Leigh (Lewis) of Magee and Tammy Porter (Dalton) of Bentonia; sister, Wilma Curry of Yazoo City; grandchildren Brad Porter and Dillon Porter of Bentonia, Kellyn Smith (Kevin) and Krissy Parker of Magee and Landon Lindsey and Woods Lindsey of Yazoo City; several great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
