Blackledge named new sports editor

BlackledgeBlackledgeThe Yazoo Herald

John Blackledge joined The Yazoo Herald staff this week as the new sports editor.
A Sandersville native, Blackledge earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications and History from William Carey University in Hattiesburg. He also earned an associate’s degree from Jones County Junior College.
Blackledge began his journalism career at a small weekly sports publication before joining the Laurel Leader Call as a sports writer. A year later, he joined The Review of Jones County. He also worked in sports radio.
Blackledge is excited to join The Herald staff and hopes to bring new life to local sports coverage.
