Yazoo law enforcement legend Roosevelt “Wolf Lake” Hudson died last week at the age of 82.
The Yazoo County native served his community for over 30 years in a law enforcement career that made him a local legend.
“We have lost a good public servant,” said E.O. “Buddy” Passons, a former Yazoo County sheriff. “He was a true friend and a gentleman, a man’s man.”
Hudson was born on July 26, 1930 on El Dorado Plantation in Yazoo County to Rev. Steve and Minnie Pearl Hudson. He was the third of seven children.
After graduating from the Yazoo City Training School, Hudson joined the United States Army and fought in the  Korean War.
