Cobie Collins said he would like to find a way to make up the loss Yazoo County employees are seeing in their paychecks following a two percent payroll tax increase.
Collins, president of the Board of Supervisors, said the tax hits lower income workers the hardest, and many county employees are in that category.

Collins said it’s already difficult for the county to keeps its best employees because they can often find better paying jobs in the private sector.
