JACK BAILEY
Jack Norman Bailey, 73, of Paris, Ark. died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 in Fort Smith, Ark.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Paris Freewill Baptist Church. Burial followed at Baxley Cemetery in Paris, Ark.
Mr. Bailey was born in Yazoo County in Mechanicsburg to William Earl “Pete” and Dolly Thrash Bailey. He worked as a salvage diver, river boat captain, heavy duty diesel mechanic, master electrician and truck driver in Louisiana and Arkansas. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Arkansas.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Lou Bailey of Paris, Ark.; two daughters, Darleen Reed-Hawkins of Fayetteville, Ark. and Jackie Eileen Bailey of Paris, Ark.; four sisters, Sue “Beaky” Bailey Labela of Waggaman, La., Brenda Bailey Ford of Oakwood, Texas, Thelma Bailey Foster of Bentonia and Marilyn Bailey Dunn of St. Rose, La.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Eddie Stinnett, Dale Gilbreath, Brad Curtis, Wes Powell, Mike Moffett and Jimmy Hardin.
SAMMALE LEE
Sammale “Sammie” Lee, 54, died Jan. 5, 2013.
Funeral services were Saturday at Century Funeral Home with Rev. E.L. Brown officiating. Burial followed at Valley Home in Holly Bluff.
Mr. Lee was born July 24, 1958 to the late Robert and Ora D. Lee in Indianola. His job skills of masonry, painting, sheet rock, building and carpentry were obtained as an apprentice. He was a member of Tulane Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sisters, Bernice Vaughan (Jessie) and Hilda Lee of Yazoo City, Betty Jean Lee of Jackson, Georgia Wilson Hamlin of Collins, Joyce Lee of Indianola and Gloria Wilson of Los Angeles; four brothers, Roger Lee and Bobby Joe Wilson of Yazoo City and Nelson Lee and Robert Lee of Indianola; and a host of other relatives and friends.
STANFORD PEPPER
Stanford W. Pepper, 65, of Vaughan died Jan. 13, 2013 at Specialty Hospital.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Black Jack Baptist Church with Rev. David White officiating. Burial followed at Black Jack Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Pepper was born Oct. 5, 1927 in Oakland to Harry Ward Pepper and Julia Royal Pepper. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and a retired accountant with Mississippi Power & Light.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Pepper of Vaughan; a daughter, Kathy Roberts of Benton; two sons, Stan Pepper (Becky) of Ridgeland and Donnie Pepper (Dianne) of Vaughan; a sister, Helen Olinger of Long Beach; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Will Love, Larry Kramer and the deacons of Black Jack Baptist Church.
JANICE TOLBERT
Janice LaShaye Tolbert, 34, died Jan. 4, 2013.
Funeral services were Saturday at King Solomon M.B. Church with Rev. Benjamin Hall officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers were Gregg Giles, Willie Neal, Marion Wilkerson, Tarcus Wilkerson, Nathan Williams and Gregory Sims.
Honorary pallbearers were Tony Butler, Clinton Giles, George Giles and Ellis Wilkerson.
BRAYLON WEEKLY
Braylon Marche’ Weekly, infant, died Jan. 3, 2013.
Funeral services were Jan. 11 at Century Funeral Home.
Braylon was born Jan. 3, 2013 and died at 10:45 a.m.
Survivors include his mother, Jamie Weekly; father, Kendric Thomas; two sisters, J’khirya Taylor and Paige Weekly; brother, Cameron Little; grandparents, Mary Weekly, Chuck Johnson, Etta Smith and Jody Thomas, all of Yazoo City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
MANDY WILLIAMS
Mandy Tyler Williams, 37, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2013.
Mrs. Williams was born Thursday, May 15, 1975 to Alyce Melton Tyler and the late John W. Tyler.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John Tyler III.
Survivors include her mother, Alyce Melton Tyler; a son, John Austin Bennett; a daughter, Mallory Marie Williams; two sisters, Dana Tyler and Jana Tyler Bennett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
