Defense rules the day in Yazoo wins

The Yazoo City Indians and Lady Indians returned to action on the hardwood Tuesday night from their holiday break and made a clear statement that the season of giving is over.
With a pair of defensive gems, both teams routed visiting Neshoba Central to start the New Year off with a pair of conference wins. The Indians defeated the Rockets 59-26 to improve to 12-7 overall and 1-1 in district, while the Lady Indians improved to 6-11 overall and 1-1 in league play with a 45-23 win over the Lady Rockets.
The Indians posted 26 defensive rebounds, had seven steals and seven blocked shots in their 33-point win. Likewise, the Lady Indians had 20 defensive boards, seven steals and five blocked shots in their 22-point win. Both Neshoba squads found the going tough all night long against Yazoo City.
