CAROLYN CLARK
Carolyn Clark, 55, died Dec. 30, 2012.
Funeral services were Saturday at St. Matthew Church of God in Christ with Rev. Bernard Luckett officiating.
Mrs. Clark was born Sept. 2, 1957 in Yazoo County to the late Willie D. and Luvenia Clark. She was a well known seamstress and a member of Mount Moriah M.B. Church.
Survivors include her four children, LaWanda Winters (Timothy), Azizi Clark, Zelthia Clark and Eddie Clark (Jacqueline); brothers, Nathaniel, Willie D. Jr, Leandrew, Wayman, Larry, Wendell and Anthony; sisters, Fannie Bell, Betty, Gwendlean, Shirley, Kim, Alice, Cherry, Ruth and Matilda; five grandchildren; one step-grandson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

BILL CUMMINGS

Cecil G. “Bill” Cummings, 82, died Dec. 31, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were Thursday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Richardson officiating. Burial followed at Short Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Cummings was born Aug. 14, 1930 in Yazoo County. He was a retired maintenance worker for Mississippi Chemical Corporation and a member of Sallis Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Cummings; two sisters, Bettye Manor and Joyce Russell; and a brother, Harvey W. Cummings.
Survivors include Steven W. (Cathy) Cummings of Sallis; grandson Stephen C. Cummings of Sallis; granddaughter Cecilia (Daniel) Barnhill of Ethel; two brothers, George W. Cummings Jr. and David Cummings of Yazoo City; and a sister, Jane (James) Gordon of Yazoo City.
Serving as pallbearers were Bobby Brown, Rand Ainsworth, David Dodd, Brent Busbea, Bill Winstead and Jack Ables.
Honorary pallbearers were Daniel Barnhill, Don Hutchinson, Wayne Bishop, Lynn Cain, Arthur Ables Jr. and Allen Winstead.

JOHN LAMPKIN Jr.

John L. Lampkin Jr., 60, died Dec. 24, 2012.
Funeral services were Sunday at New Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Bentonia with Rev. Clarence Blackmon officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Scott Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Lampkin was born Feb. 3, 1952 in Midnight to the late Bertha Lee Carter and John L. Lampkin Sr. He was employed as a baker for the Butternut Baker Company for 37 years.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eddie and Calving; sister, Bernice; and a set of twin siblings.
Survivors include his children, John L. Randy and Chandra; siblings, Beatrice McCray (Danny), Rev. Tommy Lampkin (Patsy), Annie Aquila-Berillo and Tyrone Lampkin, all of Cincinnati, Linda Gary of Crestview Hills Ky., Paul Lampkin (Kimberly) of Union, Ky., Freddy Lampkin (Janice) of Delran, N.J., Geraldine Lampkin, Cynthia Gainwell (Napoleon) and Yolanda Lampkin, all of Bentonia; three grandsons; and a host of other relatives and friends.

CYNTHIA MILLER

Cynthia Stewart Woods Miller, 88, died Jan. 3, 2013.
Funeral services were Sunday at New King Solomon M.B. Church with Rev. Gregory A. Robertson officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Century Funeral Home.
Mrs. Woods was born Nov. 5, 1924 in Yazoo County to Emma Taylor Johnson and Burton Woods. She was a cosmetologist before becoming a physical therapist, where she worked with Veteran’s Administration hospitals in Chicago and Jackson before retiring. She enjoyed a lifelong love of gospel music, and is credited with forming the Angelic Mass Choir in Yazoo City in the late 1980s. She was also a volunteer for the Foster Grandparent Program, a tutor, and an agent for Century Burial Association for over 20 years.
Survivors include god-daughters, Andrea Rucker and Cynthia Walker (Larry); and a host of other relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Ed Carter, Billy Paige, Carl Fleming, A.C. Smith and Gilbert Hollins.
Honorary pallbearers were Chuck Espy, Joseph C. Thomas Sr., Dr. William Nelson and Charles Little.
