Hunting opportunities abound at the Charles Ray Nix WMA

The Yazoo Herald

January is an excellent month for archery, youth, and rabbit hunters at Charles Ray Nix Wildlife Management Area (WMA).
Located a few miles west of Sardis in north Mississippi, this WMA offers approximately 4,000 acres of grassland and woodland habitat.
From January 1-31, adults may hunt deer with archery equipment only.  However, during this time, youth hunters (those 15 years of age and younger) may hunt deer with any approved weapon, which includes modern rifles.  When hunting on WMAs, youth hunters must be in the presence and under the direct supervision of a licensed or exempt hunter of at least 21 years of age.
